I have extensive experience as a writer and editor for magazines, books, and websites. I was especially active during the dot-com boom, when the World Wide Web went from a nerd’s obsession to big business in just a few years.
During that time, I became proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite products, especially Photoshop, having worked on Production Essentials for Adobe Press, and Dreamweaver. I often worked with QuarkXpress page-layout program, which many magazines used in production.
Since then I have expanded my skill set to photography and graphic design, both of which I love, and brought my Creative Suite skills up to date including InDesign page-layout program and Illustrator.
I discovered the promise of the WordPress blogging platform to solve a huge need for small businesses and nonprofits, whose executives know they need a website but don’t want to learn coding and don’t have the resources to pay someone for every little update.
WordPress solves both of those problems, and I now specialize in WordPress websites for small businesses and nonprofits. Not only have I found ways to keep their development costs affordable, I guides client through every step of the process, from registering a domain name to updating their websites themselves.
But I don’t neglect my other services. I write online courses and artist bios, copyedit books and magazines, photograph people and products, and design logos and brochures – all at affordable prices.
